Erik Axelssson Oxenstierna

10   Erik Axelsson Oxenstierna´s (1624–1655) coat of arms from 1646 is a typical baroque, rather pompous figure, especially compared to the modest one of his father´s (nr 9). This may be a result of the family´s elevation to Dukedom. Erik Axelsson var on his way to Estonia in 1646, appointed its governor. He later became a minister in 1651 and his father´s assistant, and upon Axel´s death succeeding him as Chancellor of the Realm.
